Chinese Phonetics - Pinyin

Pinyin is a means of writing Chinese words using the English Alphabet. Officially adopted by the Chinese government in 1958 and by ISO 1979 as the standard for writing Mandarin Chinese, Pinyin is used along with Chinese Characters on all public signs, international maps, and other official communication. While it is possible to communicate electronically using Chinese Characters, most business correspondence will contain a certain amount of Pinyin. This CD will help you learn the basics of communicating in Chinese using the English Alphabet.
